Cheers to new adventures on the horizon. Cheers to the trials we've faced in the last year and the years before. Cheers to taking all of the experience and knowledge that we've gained from these lessons into our new year!
New year, new you! You're different now, right? That sounds good, in theory but tell me how. It is up to you whether that's good or bad. Will you allow your experiences to shape you for better or worse? I for one see myself as my most evolved, intelligent, spiritual & authentic version of myself ever been; you should too!
What does the new year mean to you? New life, new beginnings, a clean slate. It's time for resolutions and fresh starts. For many people this means setting goals that they hope will make their lives better in some way; whether it be professionally, personally, or spiritually. But what if we took on a different perspective? What if we looked at our past selves with gratitude instead of regret? What if we used the lessons learned from this year's mistakes as fuel to propel us into next year with vigor and enthusiasm? In 2022- how would you want your life to look after making changes now?
It is up to you to create the life that you want. You are in full control. So often we get caught up in the day-to-day and forget about what truly matters to us. We let our busy lives dictate how we should live rather than taking the time to figure out what it is that we really want. The new year is a perfect opportunity for reflection; on where you have been, where you are now, and most importantly, where you want to go.
Are you interested in assuring an empowering new year? Here are 10 activities that you can do to make sure that 2022 is your best year yet!
1. Make a list of things you are grateful for.
This can be done every day, but it's especially helpful to do around the time of New Year's resolutions. When we take the time to reflect on all of the good in our lives, we tend to feel more positive and hopeful about the future.
2. Tidy up your space.
This includes physical space as well as virtual, like your Facebook page and other social media sites. This is a great way to start fresh for the year! Out with the old and in with the new. The new year is the perfect time to get rid of those things that no longer serve your journey. By letting go of things we not only enrich the lives of others who may need them but we also free up space for new and better things to greet us.
The wisdom that our life is a journey, and death is the just the end of our trip here on this plane, should be embraced with enthusiasm. It permeates all aspects of your life. We must know when to let go in order to avoid harmful results.
3. Write down your goals and visualize them.
It's very important to write down your goals for the year so that you can track your progress (and hold yourself accountable). Not only that, but writing them down helps to solidify them in your mind and makes them feel more real. So get out a pen and paper (or open up a document on your computer) and start brainstorming!
Set realistic goals. Don't set yourself up for failure by aiming too high. Make goals that challenge you but are still achievable- this way you'll be more likely to stick with them throughout the year.
At the same time, believing is seeing. That's right, I said, BELIEVING IS SEEING. You have to actually visualize all that you hope to achieve in order to believe that it is possible. Anything that you imagine can be made real. I believe that our imagination is a gift from the Holy Spirit to help us realize that there are no limits to what we can accomplish.
Don't beat yourself up if you don't meet all of your goals. If you fall short, don't get discouraged! Just pick yourself back up and try again.
4. Evaluate your mindset.
The new year is a great time to start fresh and set some goals, but it's also important to have the right mindset. Believe in yourself and know that you can do anything you put your mind to! Be positive, patient, and persistent. These three qualities will help you achieve any goal you set for yourself.
For references on how you can begin to shape your mindset for a more preferable future try investing in books like this month's Book Club Book of the Month, Atomic Habits by James Clear. It doesn't just go over how to form positive habits but also, the science behind why these changes are so beneficial.
Once you decide that the way you have been doing things is not yielding the results you want, you will be more apt to making a change.
5. Form new positive habits.
One of the best things about the beginning of a New Year is that it's a fresh start! You can form new positive habits and break away from negative ones. It takes time and effort, but it's definitely worth it in the end. Think about your resolutions.
What do you want to change about your life this year? Are there any areas you want to focus on improving? Take some time to think about it and write down your resolutions.
6. Find a new hobby!
The beginning of the year is a great time to try something new. The beauty about trying out a hobby is that if you don't like it, there's always next month for you to pick up another one. There are no limits to the number of new and intriguing activities you may attempt.
Contrary to popular belief, not every pastime has to be turned into a business. Some activities are improved when they are solely enjoyed for the pure enjoyment of it.
7. Change your surroundings.
New scenery has the ability to rejuvenate your spirit, whether it's for a weekend getaway, a relocation to a completely new city, or the discovery of a new local company. New places are filled with the potential for new opportunities. Go on an adventure with friends or family!
If you're searching for inspiration, have a look at some of the #staycation and #getaway hashtags on social media sites like TikTok. There are several influencers that offer information and evaluations on fantastic locations in your city.
8. Create a plan.
Once you know what you want to achieve, it's important to create a plan of action. Break your resolutions down into small, manageable steps so you can track your progress and take action!
Make sure to set aside time each day to work on your resolutions and be consistent with your efforts. Don't forget to track your progress. It's important to track your progress so you can see how far you've come. This will help you to stay motivated and on track.
I'll let you in on a secret: having a large whiteboard has been a game-changer for me, and it could be for you as well.
9. Help someone else!
Helping others is one of the most selfless acts that you can accomplish, and it has many mental benefits to your well-being. Helping others also allows them to feel gratitude which in turn might increase their happiness levels too. This cycle makes helping others a win-win situation all around.
Use Google to investigate some charity groups or volunteer possibilities in your area. I recently joined my family's church and have been volunteering on all of our clothing/food/toy drives as well as participating in community outreach activities since then. Knowing that you are contributing to others' betterment is truly uplifting. It isn't always necessary to give money. The greatest things you can contribute maybe your time and energy.
Last but not least...
10. Celebrate your accomplishments!
When you reach a milestone, be sure to celebrate your success! This will help keep you motivated and encourage you to continue working towards your goals. You are entitled to praise for your achievements, even if you have to give it to yourself.
